Full Moon in Pisces – September 6th, 2017 // Lunar Horoscopes

Whoever said a watched pot never boils obviously didn’t know what it feels like to stare at a blank page. Something or someone does indeed boil, eventually.

At this Full Moon, my Mercury Retrograde brain drain is your gain: in place of my usual (and usually) lyrical Moon musings, I’ve got Full Moon in Pisces horoscopes for all my lovely lunar people.

Typically, I look at the New or Full Moons following an eclipse as transition points, and I’ve noticed in the past how often they can give us a second serving of eclipse energy; perhaps, not insight which directly concerns the meaning of the eclipse itself, but maybe something along the lines of our instinctual reactions to what has been churned up in the moments of darkness.

I’m writing these based on your RISING sign, so please start there, although what you read – whether for your Sun, Moon or Ascendant sign – is entirely up to you.

 Aries Rising

With Uranus still rocking through your 1st House and the recent Solar Eclipse in Leo setting off a creatively-enhanced, pleasure-inducing explosion only a few weeks prior, I can only envision this Full Moon in your 12th House as a much-needed invitation to take a few steps back and recharge. Rams are usually all-systems-go 24/7, but now may be an excellent moment for hitting the pause button and spending some time delving into what’s holding you back – and why. Aries traditionally has no problem with conflict, but the insight we require now is not what external challenges exist, but rather which internal ones continue to keep us flummoxed and second-guessing ourselves (particularly, in the area of health and service). Equally, there could be something deeper at play, and if your gut instincts tap into questionable vibes, try and sit with this information. There’s something nebulous and hard to pin down here, and while this is an ideal moment for meditative exploration, concrete answers may not come quickly – bad news for an impatient sign like Aries, I know. Time spent in quiet, restorative solitude (even a retreat?) is the ticket, even if it doesn’t feel like it has a point, and even if you’re convinced that your energy would be more productive elsewhere. Trust the quiet.

♉️ Taurus Rising

My ideal scenario for Taurus rising folks at this Full Moon is an off-grid retreat into the quiet, with a group of very close friends – known entities, insofar as we can ever know anyone – for a deeply meditative patch of peace. You’ve probably earned it: some of you may have had a rather gnarly Solar Eclipse in Leo experience, being that it squared your sign. The good news is that Pallas-Athena is here to help, and to heal; her advice is a return to nature, and to the wisdom that all things unfold as they should, when they should – with very little pushing required from your good selves. Taking place in your 11th House, you may be feeling hugely inclined towards a new idealistic cause or be turning that same lens towards your nearest cohorts for examination, whether friendly or romantic. Dream it out, journal it, meditate on it – just don’t act immediately. Some dreams germinate best as just that – dreams. You’ll want to wait for ground that’s a bit more solid, and therefore better suited to your Earthly ways, until you decide once and for all which dreams, friends, and lovers, are the real deal.

♊️ Gemini Rising

Gemini has not been getting enough credit as of late. In reality, the pressure’s been on my twinning friends for some time now: as Saturn has transited your opposite sign Sagittarius since September 2015, his leadened gaze has thrown many a doubt-inducing dagger your way since, and he’s particularly pressurized your most important relationships and partnerships. No surprises then that the Solar Eclipse in Leo pinged the part of your chart about self-expression. All this business about learning to live with other people and their quirky limitations may have helped you reach a new capacity for heartfelt communication (even for a chat-happy Gemini). With the Full Moon occurring in your 10th House of career and honors, perhaps something you’ve not felt so in touch with recently, you may be called to put these newfound skills to use. If the job requires inspiration, you’ll have just the thing in spades at this Full Moon; if it needs clarity, however, you may want to wait until the Astro-weather becomes more clear. Things may very well feel that they come to a head at this Full Moon, but just know that with the Moon conjunct and the Sun opposite to illusory, deceptive Neptune, nothing and no one is certain.

♋️ Cancer Rising

My crab friends have been hard at work this year, trying to make the moolah in boundary-busting ways, compliments of transiting Uranus and Saturn, as well as the recent Solar Eclipse in Leo, which plucked a few choice strings in the part of your chart involved with money and the value we assign to ourselves and our talents. The challenge? Doing all of this in a way that keeps our hearts full to the brim with creative satisfaction while keeping our integrity intact. It can be done, and surely the intuitive, fertile sign of Cancer is well-placed to make it happen – but it’s certainly not easy, is it? Something here needs to shift, and the message is likely to come by spiritual carrier pigeon: with the Full Moon occurring in your 9th House, there’s wisdom to be gleaned from going on a long-distance journey, whether that occurs without or within. Perhaps the message is to bring it back down to basics and to integrate the mundane (Sun in the 3rd) with the sacred (Moon in the 9th); and maybe if something isn’t useful on an everyday level, it’s not as sacred as we previously hoped.

♌️ Leo Rising

I’m imagining a ‘pride’ of Lions with PTSD huddled in a cave somewhere, watching Judy Garland films. Are you ready to come out now? I’d hope so because the world needs you: Leo is the sign of the heart, and its quite clear that on a number of levels we’re out of touch with ours. This Full Moon is in a touchy spot for you lot; I won’t lie. The 8th House is the space of mental anguish and ‘vagaries of the mind,’ a rather Victorian turn of phrase that simply means ‘the shit that will fuck you up the quickest, to greatest effect.’ This is the space of Superman’s Kryptonite and a few of your darkest demons, and it handily includes everything we’ve inherited from our parents, financial and otherwise (shudder). Right now these demons are hatching a plan to make you question if you can do it (whatever that is), and if you do, if you’re worth whatever you’re getting paid, or hope to be paid, to do it. Now – I’m not suggesting that you go full Taylor Swift and erect a clapback temple of artistry in honor of your demon foes, but I am hoping you’ll meet yourself halfway to suss out which of your fears are valid, and which only appear so under the nebulizing light of this Full Moon. If you feel drawn to it, write it out, make a list, check it twice; repeat as necessary.

♍️ Virgo Rising

With the eclipses no longer occurring in Virgo & Pisces, worker-baes with Virgo rising have been able to return to two of their favorite past times – work and self-improvement. Some may have also done an exceptional job at collecting the cash recently, thanks to Jupiter transiting the 2nd House of money and Virgo’s undeniable talent for making a plan and sticking to it. The maiden sign is just as good at turning the same inclination inwards: they’re a quick hand at recognizing their weaknesses, and even quicker at crafting a plan to overcome them. At this Full Moon, however, your uncommonly good common sense may feel thwarted, or indeed, may be forced to take a temporary backseat. A Neptunian Full Moon, already blurry and uncertain, is taking place in your 7th House of committed partnerships, a place that’s hard for the best of anyone of us – even you lot, the hardest working of us all – to negotiate. Things may be dreamy in relationships, and if they are, I hope you soak it up, but equally, things may be deceptively dreamy, too. I have no fears that you won’t retain your clear-headed disposition throughout. If anything, I only hope you won’t turn the critical eye on yourself or others too quickly: maybe neither of you really needs to change

♎️ Libra Rising

Having Jupiter in Libra transiting your sign has been a gift of sorts, but no gift is ever without its thorny bits: you’ve had to contend with some ultra-bumpy (and sometimes exciting) shifts in your relationships compliments of the Jupiter-Uranus opposition, as well as the excavation of deep-seated family and childhood material thanks to the Jupiter-Pluto square. All of this might have been harder to handle if you weren’t you, which is to say that your Libran talent for grinning-and-bearing-it may have been indispensable this year; if only the same skill could apply as effectively to your health. Libra friends, my concern is that all of this repressed worry, and the endless to-do lists, and the backbreaking amount of work you take on to keep the peace is doing your bodies bad. Equally, there could be something at this Full Moon about work, service, and the anxieties therein. You can try to grin and bear it, and you’ll likely do just that – but in the long run, you’d be much better off speaking up and letting others know when you need their help.

♏️ Scorpio Rising

The recent Solar Eclipse in Leo taking place in your 10th House of career may have made you a bit ‘all work and no play make Jack a dull boy’; and while Scorpio can be accused of many things, being boring is not one of them. Understandably, you’ve probably had your eyes peeled for a release valve, and I’m happy to tell you that one of your favorite ways may very well be on offer, although I advise that you proceed with relative levels of caution. The Full Moon in Pisces is occurring in your 5th House of creativity, indulgences, pleasures, children, and yes – sex. If you’re attached, you might become very, very, very attached, perhaps at the genitals, if you’re lucky; if you’re unattached, you might find yourself locking lips with a particularly dreamy paramour. For a number of reasons, it may be best to try and move outside of your normal circles, although if you’re a typical Scorpio, there may be very little to stop you once a person makes it into your crosshairs. Just remember: while for you everything is black and white, yes or no, this or that, nothing at this Full Moon will be certain, even for you. If you feel this romantic entanglement may lead towards your typical levels of fixation, you may wish to strike when the stakes aren’t quite as high, keeping in mind just how much you hate to lose.

♐️ Sagittarius Rising

Is there no end to the indignity? Must one continually suffer at the hands of Saturn’s never-ending transit of the 1st House, that miserly master, whose only business seems to entail endlessly cramping one’s style (not to mention, crushing a few dreams while he’s at it)? The good news, Sag friends, is that the end is nigh: Saturn has only a few months left to evoke his special brand of contraction on your equine bones, and you, therefore, have only a few months left of chomping at his bit. Your need to break out may have become all the more real recently, as Jupiter’s transit of the 11th House expanded your hopefulness beyond all repair and the Solar Eclipse in Leo broke new ground in your desire to roam wide and free. All of these impulses are business as usual for a Sag, but what’s being examined at this Full Moon is your relationship to your parents, childhood, and sense of home. You may feel pulled to ground yourself in a safe, familial space now, and in some way, you may even feel compelled to do so by stresses or confusions about your career and where you’re headed. Consider this a pit stop: folks of your ilk don’t ever really have a home – you magically create it everywhere you trundle along.

♑️ Capricorn Rising

Some Capricorns may have found themselves in a distressing situation as of late: with Jupiter transiting the 10th there’s been growth and expansion in your career or reputation, but with eclipses happening across the 2nd & 8th Houses, there may be concerns or question marks surrounding money and investments. All in all, this type of situation does not sit well with the typical Capricorn. Ruddy-minded and dauntless, most sea-goats find themselves easily ambling up the most humbling summits with ease, leaving all others in their wake. Work they will and work they must, just as long as the funds and admiration exist in ample supply; to be without one part of the equation can instill a deep-seated unease that refuses to let up, no matter how impressive the Capricorn’s accomplishments become. The Full Moon is occurring in your 3rd House – a place where we express, communicate, and let others know what we think and feel. Capricorns typically keep a pretty stiff upper lip and are relatively shtum as a whole. Now, however, maybe be a good time to set ourselves down amongst others and forge a sense of community where we comfortably express how we really feel, and what we really think. You may be surprised just how much relief lies in speaking truth not just to power, but to anyone. Siblings, aunties, and cousins may also feature at this Full Moon.

♒️ Aquarius Rising

You’d be forgiven for telling everyone around that your well has dried up and you have nothing left to give. Aquarius, like Leo, has had their lives turned upside down by the stultifying effect of the recent eclipses in your sign. To add existential pain to celestial injury, Aquarius’ high-minded, sensible, and humane approach to existence is being battered at every corner by darker, more nefarious elements that lurk beneath the surface of our shared humanity. Your sign depends on a sense of vision, and a certain belief that change is possible; and for many, that kind of optimism may seem like it’s in terribly short supply. So, what to do? You can start by a revamp of your values. With a Full Moon occurring in the 2nd House of money, self-esteem, talents, and the worth we ascribe to both, it may be time to take stock of where we’re at materially and emotionally. As usual, what we fear most deeply will likely never come to pass; these fears just sit in our psyches as helpful reminders of who we are and what we most want (or don’t). Please, Aquarius, be led by what moves you, by what beauty you see in others, by that small bumping mechanism just underneath your ribs on the left – and nothing else.

♓️ Pisces Rising

Emily Dickinson famously wrote, “I am nobody! Who are you? Are you – nobody – too?” Lately, you may have been feeling the same, what with Neptune, a wild fog, and Chiron, a punctuating pain, transiting your 1st House of self. The truth is, you may have been feeling rather distant from whoever you thought you were and whoever you hoped you might be. And thank God for that. Amidst the disruption, something more real has had the chance to grow and ferment, and something wholly different now takes root in the deepest part of your person. This process has not been without its pains, but the pains have been necessary, as they let us see for once and for all where the boundaries of our being meet with that of others. This Full Moon, occurring in your sign and in your 1st House of who you are and seem to be, is an opportunity for a deep, salubrious meditation on what it means to be you, and equally, what it means to be ‘not you,’ as in Emily Dickinson’s poem. This may seem vague and abstract, but the fact is, I think you get it. Just sit with it, do your Piscean thing and merge with this thought – and then see what you create as a by-product.
