Full Moon in Aries, October 5th, 2017 // The Bold & The Battleful

To be nobody-but-yourself – in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else – means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight.

– E. E. Cummings

‘Feel the fear and do it anyway’ could be Aries’ motto, worthy words if you’re a hot-headed protagonist on the prowl.

And foolhardy though Aries may sometimes be, these folks radiate a raging, all-guns-blazing bravado that would give most of us a mean case of the shiver-me-timbers. This is a sign that loves a challenge: Aries lives by the edict that we don’t truly know ourselves until we jump headfirst into the stickiest of wickets and come out the other end.

In most of our lives, however, challenges are circuitously avoided. We are taught from a young age to do our best not to rock the boat, even if this means we occasionally go down clinging to the side of the ship (or with others clinging to us, in the false belief that *we* are the ship).

The Full Moon in Aries comes after a turbulent period of Astrological movements, so I’ll forgive you if you currently identify as more mawkish than Martian. After a weekend involving the final Jupiter-Uranus opposition (out-of-the-blue, shock-and-awe situations) and Pluto’s direct station (secrets slithering out from below), you may be feeling shell-shocked and unsure of next steps. It ‘s also true that the Full Moon in Aries may bring some of these unintegrated emotions surging to the surface in the form of anger and indignation.

There is the possibility, however, to adapt Aries’ undaunted manner for an honest study on how we can mesh our individual needs with those of others (Libra Sun vs. Aries Moon).

Just be careful that you don’t fall into too much self-reflection: Aries favorite topic is itself, of course, and with a square between the Aries Full Moon with Pluto and an opposition to both Mercury and Vesta, we could get drawn into bottomless rabbit holes of navel-gazing. Our emotions may feel powerful, unavoidable, and never-ending; others may take a stab at Venn-diagramming to death their most potent emotional afflictions.

We can look to the lunation ruler, Mars for a bit of direction; for as much as the Moon is in a tight spot, Mars is looking slightly better, although he is not without his own frustrations.

On the upside, Mars is locked in a powerful embrace with his favorite paramour, Venus. With these two linked up in the sign of Virgo, we can expect a highly creative, productive use of our time and energy. Attractions and sexual energies may run high, hot, and heavy.

Mars’ trine with Pluto underscores this powerful urge to merge, with the added bonus of re-aligning our deepest motivations with our actions.

The downside? Mars is building to a fraught square with Saturn. Even at the best of times, this planetary pair should be treated with caution; with the square, we may feel that the thing we desire is precisely that which is being denied to us. The sensation is akin to Mars attempting two steps forward as Saturn pushes him two steps back. If you have planets in your chart in or around 16-22 degrees Virgo or Sagittarius, you may wish to take note.

Yet, Mars never gives up, and neither should you. Tucked deep within this little cosmic chestnut you’re being handed is the hidden wish to jump into the fray and see if you cut the mustard.

This Full Moon is an invitation to be reminded of who you are when the chips are down, and push comes to shove.

Go on, take a punt.

Feel the fear – and the doubts, frustrations, and prayers that it would all just work itself out – and fucking do it anyway.

Here’s what past course participants have said:
“Working with Lee has been nothing short of valuable — and I do NOT say that lightly with the amount of astrologers out there and the rising prices of services offered. I’ve purchased classes and readings from other astrologers, never feeling fully satisfied, and after completing just one installment of Lee’s “Living La Vida Lunar” class. I was amazed. I’ve walked away with an IMMENSE amount of knowledge and references on the lunar cycle, mythology, and astrology and I truly could not be more pleased!! Having a facebook group to discuss the material was an amazing resource as we went through the lessons. THANK YOU!!”
