ASTEROIDS & MINOR PLANETS 101

Astrology is rooted in theories that have been in use for thousands of years. Asteroids, on the other hand, are a modern addition to the astro-family. Mostly discovered in the last 50 years, asteroids bring juicy, mind-blowing detail into a birth chart reading.

If you’re new to asteroid astrology, check out these two posts to understand what asteroids are and how you can start working with them.

WHAT ARE ASTEROIDS?

HOW TO USE ASTEROIDS

CHECK OUT OUR UNIVERSE

Our solar system has hundreds of thousands of celestial objects. Between the main asteroid belt, the Trojans and the Oort Cloud, the visual reality of space is completely unlike what we learned from our high school textbooks.

OTHER MINOR PLANETS: CENTAURS, TNO’s & MORE

Beyond the world of asteroids, there are a number of other minor planet categories: centaurs, hypothetical TNP’s, Trans-Neptunian Objects, dwarf planets and many more.

This section is a work in progress - as I complete new posts I’ll link them here below.

THE CENTAURS

The centaurs of astrology fall somewhere between animal and human. They are sometimes guided by noble ideals and other times by destructive primal urges.

‘Centaur' means “those who round-up bulls” and they are known for their wild behaviour, lewdness, and love of wine.

THE HYPOTHETICAL PLANETS

The hypothetical planets are just that – hypothetical.

Between 1927 and 1934 two Uranian astrologers theorized that there would be 8 planets found beyond Pluto. I took my time with the hypotheticals, and since then have come to realise just how potent they can be within a chart.
